Got a hankering for linguini and meatballs as I was leaving work, and rather than buy meatballs I decided to make my own...for the first time. So I stopped, and grabbed some Johnsonville Italian sausage and ground beef on the way home. Upon arriving home I checked out a few recipes to get an idea of cooking temps and times, then set off to the kitchen. After grabbing stuff from the fridge and spice cabinet that sounded appropriate I ended up with the following assortment on the counter.
Crack the egg into a medium sized bowl, and add in the dry ingredients. Blend together and mix in the ground beef and Italian sausage until spices are integrated thoroughly (but not overworked). Form balls and place them them on a sheet pan, then place them into an oven preheated to 400F for 15-20 minutes.
